Abstract
This invention relates to a projection apparatus and method. More particularly, but not exclusively, it relates to a projection apparatus arranged to limit transparency of a virtual image when projected in front of a background projected image.

An image projection apparatus comprising:
- (a) a first projection device arranged to generate a virtual three-dimensional image;
- (b) a second projection device arranged to project a background image;
- and
- (c) means to minimize transparency of the virtual image relative to the background image.

- an image projection apparatus comprising:
- (a) a first projection device arranged to generate a virtual three-dimensional image;
- (b) a second projection device arranged to project a background image;
- and
- (c) means to minimize transparency of the virtual image relative to the background image;

A method of enhancing clarity of a virtual three-dimensional image, comprising the steps of:
- generating a virtual three-dimensional image using a first projection device;
- generating a background image behind the virtual three-dimensional image using a second projection device, the background image having a background light frequency;
- and
- projecting light having a frequency corresponding to the background light frequency onto the virtual three-dimensional image.

A method of enhancing the clarity of a virtual image, comprising the steps of:
- generating a virtual image using a first projection device;
- generating a background image behind the virtual image using a second projection device;
- and
- incorporating one or more darkened areas within the background image, at least a portion of the one or more darkened areas being within an outline of the virtual image when viewed.
