Fast Imaging System Calibration

A method for calibrating an imaging system comprising an array of imaging devices, the method comprising the steps of:

• positioning a display at a plurality of poses within a field of view of at least two imaging device from the array of imaging devices;
• at each pose:
• displaying a set of single display features on the display;
• registering in each of the at least two imaging devices an imaging feature corresponding to the single display feature;
• compiling spatial data related to the single display feature and the corresponding image features;
• and
• estimating a parameter for the imaging system based upon the spatial data.

An imaging system comprising:

• a processing unit;
• a display communicatively coupled to the processing unit;
• and
• at least one imaging device communicatively coupled to the processor unit;
• wherein the processing unit is adapted to perform the steps comprising:
• displaying a set of single display features on the display;
• registering in the at least one imaging device an imaging feature corresponding to the single display feature;
• compiling spatial data related to the single display feature and the corresponding image feature;
• and
• estimating a parameter for the imaging system based upon the spatial data.
