Structural element, such as a panel, which is embossed with a mode shape (φtotal), i.e. with any of the various stationary vibration modes (φn) of which the structural element is capable, or a combination thereof.

Structural element embossed with a mode shape (φtotal) corresponding to at least one of any number of stationary vibration modes (φn) of which the structural element is capable.
Method for designing a structural element, comprising:
- determining at least one vibration mode (φn) of a structural element;
- and
- embossing the structural element with a mode shape (φtotal) corresponding to the at least one vibration mode.
