Abstract
A rubber latex composition is disclosed having reduced allergenicity. Methods for producing a rubber latex composition having reduced allergenicity are also disclosed.

A natural latex composition comprising less than about 100 μg of antigenic protein per gram of composition.
A method of removing or denaturing at least a portion of antigenic protein from a natural latex composition, the method comprising contacting an un-vulcanized natural latex composition with aluminum hydroxide, thereby removing or denaturing at least a portion of antigenic protein from the natural latex composition.
