Abstract
A method and system for reducing, in a centralized train control system, the portion of a centralized server application that is considered vital while not reducing the overall vitality of the system.
Claims7
A centralized train control system comprising a centralized server, wherein the server comprises an adjudicator, which is implemented as software that is running on a processor, wherein the adjudicator ensures that a request from a non-vital function of the centralized train control system, if ultimately issued as a command from the server to trackside or train-borne systems, is issued as a vital directive, wherein the adjudicator:
- (a) receives a request from a non-vital component of the centralized train control system;
- (b) evaluates the request for the purpose of validation or rejection of the request using vital resources;
- and
- (c) transmits a vital command that validates or rejects the request.
A method for operating a centralized train control system, the method comprising:
- (a) receiving a request from a non-vital component of the centralized train control system;
- (b) evaluating the request, using vital resources, for the purpose of validation or rejection thereof;
- and
- (c) transmitting a vital command that validates or rejects the request.
