- a bearing surface having at least a portion made up of chromium oxide;
- and
- a fixation surface having at least a portion made up of an oxidized material.
An implant, comprising a fixation surface having at least a portion made up of an oxidized material.
A method for forming an implant, comprising the steps of:
- coating at least a portion of a bearing surface of the implant with chromium oxide;
- and
- oxidizing at least a portion of a fixation surface of the implant.
