Abstract
Systems and methods are disclosed for collecting data from network elements. A disclosed example apparatus to facilitate the collection of data from a network element includes a first bridge to receive an application program interface (API) call requesting information for the network element, a database to store protocol information associated with the network element, and a second bridge to translate the API call in accordance with the protocol information and to communicate the translated API call to the network element is disclosed.

An apparatus to facilitate the collection of data from a network element, the apparatus comprising:
- a first bridge to receive an application program interface (API) call requesting information for the network element;
- a database to store protocol information associated with the network element;
- and
- a second bridge to translate the API call in accordance with the protocol information and to communicate the translated API call to the network element.
A method to collect data from a network element, the method comprising:
- receiving an application program interface (API) call requesting data associated with the network element;
- translating the API call based on protocol information associated with the network element;
- communicating the translated API call to the network element;
- and
- storing the protocol information associated with the network element.
An article of manufacture storing machine readable instructions which, when executed, cause a machine to:
- receive an application program interface (API) call requesting data from a network element;
- translate the API call based on protocol information associated with the network element;
- communicate the API call to the network element;
- and
- store the protocol information associated with the network element.
