Abstract
In one aspect, circuitry to determine a modular remainder with respect to a polynomial of a message comprised of a series of segment. In another aspect, circuitry to access at least a portion of a first number having a first endian format, determine a second number based on a bit reflection and shift of a third number having an endian format opposite to that of the first endian format, and perform a polynomial multiplication of the first number and the at least a portion of the first number.
Claims25
Circuitry for determining a modular remainder with respect to a polynomial of a message comprised of a series of segments, comprising circuitry to:
- repeatedly:
- access a strict subset of segments, the strict subset consisting of the most significant segments representing the message;
- independently multiply each of at least the two most significant segments by respective constants;
- transform the strict subset of segments into a smaller set of segments based on the independently multiplying each of at least the most significant segments by respective constants;
- and
- determine the modular remainder based on a set of segments output by the repeatedly accessing, multiplying, and transforming;
- and
- store the determined modular remainder.
Circuitry to:
- access at least a portion of a first number having a first endian format;
- determine a second number based on a bit reflection and shift of a third number having an endian format opposite to that of the first endian format;
- perform a polynomial multiplication of the first number and the at least a portion of the first number.
Computer program instructions disposed an a computer readable storage medium, the instructions, when executed, cause a processor to determine a modular remainder with respect to a polynomial of a message comprised of a series of segments, the instructions comprising instructions to cause the processor to:
- repeatedly:
- access a strict subset of segments, the strict subset consisting of the most significant segments representing the message;
- independently multiply each of at least the two most significant segments by respective constants;
- transform the strict subset of segments into a smaller set of segments based on the independently multiplying each of at least the most significant segments by respective constants;
- and
- determine the modular remainder based on a set of segments output by the repeatedly accessing, multiplying, and transforming;
- and
- store the determined modular remainder.
Computer program instructions disposed on a computer readable storage medium, the instructions comprising instructions to cause the processor to:
- access at least a portion of a first number having a first endian format;
- determine a second number based on a bit reflection and shift of a third number having an endian format opposite to that of the first endian format;
- perform a polynomial multiplication of the first number and the at least a portion of the first number.
A communications system, comprising:
- at least one PHY to receive signals from a communications medium,
- at least one MAC (media access controller) coupled to the at least one PHY;
- and
- circuitry to
- repeatedly:
- access a strict subset of segments, the strict subset consisting of the most significant segments representing the message;
- independently multiply each of at least the two most significant segments by respective constants;
- transform the strict subset of segments into a smaller set of segments based on the independently multiplying each of at least the most significant segments by respective constants;
- and
- determine the modular remainder based on a set of segments output by the repeatedly accessing, multiplying, and transforming;
- and
- store the determined modular remainder.
