Abstract
A method for generating a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code is provided. The method includes generating subsets each including a same number of check nodes, connecting each of variable nodes to the check nodes of the subsets so that the each of subsets is equal in degree or a difference in degree between the subsets becomes a maximum of 1, setting elements corresponding to check nodes connected to each of the variable nodes, to a non-zero value, and generating a parity check matrix H having rows corresponding to the check nodes and columns corresponding to the variable nodes.

An apparatus for generating a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code, the apparatus comprising:
- a channel matrix generator for generating subsets each including a same number of check nodes, for connecting each of variable nodes to the check nodes of the subsets so that the each of subsets is equal in degree or a difference in degree between the subsets becomes a maximum of 1, for setting elements corresponding to check nodes connected to each of the variable nodes, to a non-zero value, and for generating a parity check matrix H having rows corresponding to the check nodes and columns corresponding to the variable nodes.
A method for generating a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code, the method comprising:
- generating subsets each including a same number of check nodes;
- connecting each of variable nodes to the check nodes of the subsets so that the each of subsets is equal in degree or a difference in degree between the subsets becomes a maximum of 1;
- setting elements corresponding to check nodes connected to each of the variable nodes, to a non-zero value;
- and
- generating a parity check matrix H having rows corresponding to the check nodes and columns corresponding to the variable nodes.
