Filtering event logs for medical devices by a parameter

A system for retrieval of medical event log results, the system comprising:

• a memory configured to store event log data having a plurality of characteristics;
• a programmable circuit operatively connected to the memory, the programmable circuit configured to execute program instructions to:
• receive at a server event log data generated by a medical device;
• store the event log data in a memory of the server;
• receive a request for a subset of the event log data, the subset of the event log data defined by at least one characteristic;
• and
• filter the event log data based on the characteristic.

A method of retrieving medical event log results, the method comprising:

• receiving at a server event log data generated by a medical infusion pump;
• storing the event log data in a memory of the server;
• receiving a request for a subset of the event log data from a workstation remote from and communicatively connected to the server, the subset of the event log data defined by at least one characteristic;
• filtering the event log data based on the characteristic;
• and
• outputting the filtered event log data to the workstation;
• wherein the characteristic is a caregiver identifier representing a caregiver who programmed or operated the medical device.
