Abstract
Advertising content is provided to a user together with other content the user is consuming. The advertising content may be in a form of a solicitation to interact with a virtual environment. In a case wherein the user selects to interact with the virtual environment, an avatar is determined for interaction with the virtual environment. In accordance with an embodiment, at least a portion of the avatar rendering characteristics is determined without user intervention. After the avatar is determined, the virtual environment is rendered together with the determined avatar.
Claims27
A method of immersing a user into a virtual environment, the method comprising acts of:
- providing advertising content to a user together with other content the user is consuming, wherein the advertising content is in a form of a solicitation to interact with a virtual environment;
- selecting interaction with the virtual environment;
- determining an avatar with avatar rendering characteristics for interaction with the virtual environment, wherein at least a portion of the avatar rendering characteristics are determined without user intervention;
- and
- rendering the virtual environment and the determined avatar.
An application embodied on a computer readable medium arranged to solicit immersion of a user into a virtual environment, the application comprising:
- a portion configured to provide advertising content to a user together with other content the user is consuming, wherein the advertising content is in a form of a solicitation to interact with a virtual environment;
- a portion configured to receive a user selection to interact with the virtual environment;
- a portion configured to determine an avatar with avatar rendering characteristics for interaction with the virtual environment, wherein at least a portion of the avatar rendering characteristics are determined without user intervention;
- and
- a portion configured to render the virtual environment and the determined avatar.
