Polyolefin Compositions Having Low Gloss

A polyolefin composition comprising, in percent by weight:

• A) 10-50% of a copolymer of propylene with at least one comonomer selected from ethylene and CH2═CHR alpha-olefins, wherein R is a C2-C8 alkyl, the copolymer or propylene comprising from 1 to 8% of the at least one comonomer;
• B) 50-90% of a blend of copolymers (bI) and (bII), wherein both copolymers are copolymers of ethylene and (i) propylene, (ii) CH2═CHR alpha-olefin(s), wherein R is a C2-C8 alkyl, or (iii) a combination thereof, optionally with minor amounts of a diene, and wherein copolymer (bI) comprises from 18 to 40% of ethylene, copolymer (bII) comprises from 55 to 85% of ethylene, and a weight ratio of (bI)/(bII) is from 0.2 to 2;
• wherein the polyolefin composition comprises the copolymer (bI) in an amount of 15% or more with respect to a total weight of (A)+(B), a weight ratio C2II/C2I of a content C2II of ethylene in the copolymer (bII) to a content C2I of ethylene in copolymer (bI) is at least 1.8, and an intrinsic viscosity [η] of a fraction XS soluble in xylene at room temperature, referred to as a total weight of (A)+(B), is at least 2 dl/g.

A manufactured article comprising a polyolefin composition comprising, in percent by weight:

• A) 10-50% of a copolymer of propylene with at least one comonomer selected from ethylene and CH2═CHR alpha-olefins, wherein R is a C2-C8 alkyl, the copolymer or propylene comprising from 1 to 8% of the at least one comonomer;
• B) 50-90% of a blend of copolymers (bI) and (bII), wherein both copolymers are copolymers of ethylene and (i) propylene, (ii) CH2═CHR alpha-olefin(s), wherein R is a C2-C8 alkyl, or (iii) a combination thereof, optionally with minor amounts of a diene, and wherein copolymer (bI) comprises from 18 to 40% of ethylene, copolymer (bII) comprises from 55 to 85% of ethylene, and a weight ratio of (bI)/(bII) is from 0.2 to 2;
• wherein the polyolefin composition comprises the copolymer (bI) in an amount of 15% or more with respect to a total weight of (A)+(B), a weight ratio C2II/C2I of a content C2II of ethylene in the copolymer (bII) to a content C2I of ethylene in copolymer (bI) is at least 1.8, and an intrinsic viscosity [η] of a fraction XS soluble in xylene at room temperature, referred to as a total weight of (A)+(B), is at least 2 dl/g.

A sheet, an automotive skin layer, a blow moulded article, or a film comprising a polyolefin composition comprising, in percent by weight:

• A) 10-50% of a copolymer of propylene with at least one comonomer selected from ethylene and CH2═CHR alpha-olefins, wherein R is a C2-C8 alkyl, the copolymer or propylene comprising from 1 to 8% of the at least one comonomer;
• B) 50-90% of a blend of copolymers (bI) and (bII), wherein both copolymers are copolymers of ethylene and (i) propylene, (ii) CH2═CHR alpha-olefin(s), wherein R is a C2-C8 alkyl, or (iii) a combination thereof, optionally with minor amounts of a diene, and wherein copolymer (bI) comprises from 18 to 40% of ethylene, copolymer (bII) comprises from 55 to 85% of ethylene, and a weight ratio of (bI)/(bII) is from 0.2 to 2;
• wherein the polyolefin composition comprises the copolymer (bI) in an amount of 15% or more with respect to a total weight of (A)+(B), a weight ratio C2II/C2I of a content C2II of ethylene in the copolymer (bII) to a content C2II of ethylene in copolymer (bI) is at least 1.8, and an intrinsic viscosity [η] of a fraction XS soluble in xylene at room temperature, referred to as a total weight of (A)+(B), is at least 2 dl/g.
