Claims15
A compound of Formula I:
- wherein
- R is hydrogen, NO2, NH2, halo, (C1-C6)alkoxy, cyano, (C1-C6)alkyl or triazeno;
- R1 is hydrogen or —O—(CH2)2N(Me)2;
- R2 is hydrogen or —O—(CH2)2N(Me)2;
- and
- A-B is —CH═CH— or —CH2—CH2—;
- or
- a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof;
- with the proviso that when R1 is hydrogen, R2 is —O—(CH2)2N(Me)2;
- and when R1 is —O—(CH2)2N(Me)2, R2 is hydrogen.
A method to prepare the compound I wherein either R1 or R2 is dimethylaminoethoxy which comprises the steps of
- a) treating a organic solution of a compound I wherein either R1 or R2 is OH with an inorganic base;
- b) adding a solution or slurry of dimethylaminoethyl halide salt and refluxing the mixture;
- c) isolating the desired dimethylaminoethoxy product as a free base;
- and
- d) adding a pharmaceutically acceptable acid to form an acid addition salt of the free base;
- and
- e) isolating the resulting pharmaceutically acceptable salt.
