Imaging Apparatus

An imaging apparatus comprising:

• image pickup means;
• cutout image generation means for cutting out a specified area in an image picked up by said image pickup means to generate a cutout image enlarged at a specified magnification;
• image display means for displaying one or both of the pickup image taken by said image pickup unit and the cutout image generated by said cutout image generation means;
• display image control means for controlling a method of displaying an image said image display means displays;
• image recording means for recording images picked up by said image pickup means;
• and
• image record operating means by which the user operates timings of start and end of recording said image recording means conducts, wherein
• said display image control means determines and switches, on the basis of operation information of said record operating means, the method of displaying the image the image display means displays.

An imaging apparatus comprising:

• image pickup means;
• cutout image generation means for cutting out a specified area in a pickup image taken by said image pickup means to generate a cutout image enlarged at a specified magnification;
• image display means for displaying one or both of the pickup image taken by said image pickup unit and the cutout image generated by said cutout image generation means;
• display image control means for controlling a method of displaying an image said image display means displays;
• manual focus operation means for the user to control through manual operation the focus position of said image pickup means;
• auto-focus control means for controlling the focus position by operating an amount of controlling the focus of the pickup image from signal information of the pickup image;
• and
• focus selection means for the user to operate making a choice as to whether the focus control of said imaging apparatus is executed automatically or manually, wherein
• by operating said focus control selection means, the kind of focus control methods and the kind of methods of displaying images said image display means displays can be combined and interchanged in multiple steps.

An imaging apparatus comprising:

• first image pickup means;
• second image pickup means;
• stereo-image processing means for performing a stereo-image process by using a pickup image taken by said first image pickup means and a pickup image taken by said second image pickup means;
• cutout image generation means for cutting out a specified area in the pickup image taken by said first image pickup means or by said second image pickup means to generate a cutout image enlarged at a specified magnification;
• image display means for displaying one or a plurality of pickup images taken by said first image pickup unit or by second image pickup unit or one or a plurality of cutout images generated by said cutout image generation means;
• and
• display image control means for controlling a method of displaying the images said image display means displays.

An imaging apparatus comprising:

• image pickup means for taking a picture of a subject and acquiring a pickup image;
• cutout image generation means for cutting out a specified area of the pickup image to generate a cutout image enlarged at a specified magnification;
• image display means for displaying the pickup image and/or the cutout image;
• display image control means for controlling said image display means;
• manual focus operation means for the user to control the focus position of said image pickup means manually;
• and
• manual zoom operation means for the user to control the zoom magnification of said image pickup means manually, wherein
• when the focus position is operated by said manual focus operation means, said cutout image is selected and displayed on said image display means and when the zoom magnification is operated by said manual zoom operation means, said pickup image is selected and displayed on said image display means.
