Abstract
Solid ice melters are improved with a small exterior coating of glycerin which prevents caking and bridging and enhances melt value.

A solid ice melt composition, comprising:
- a solid ice melter;
- and
- a small but anti-caking and melt value enhancing effective amount of an exterior ice melting surface coating of glycerin.
