Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for milking animals wherein a negative pressure is periodically built up and relieved in a teat cup gap at a predetermined rate. The negative pressure is maintained over a predetermined suction phase (b) and relieved over a predetermined rest phase (d). The ratio between the suction phase (b) and the rest phase (d) changes at least once during the milking operation. In a preferred embodiment the first duration does not exceed a predetermined, first limit value and the second duration does not fall beneath a predetermined, second limit value.
Claims21
A method for milking animals wherein a negative pressure is periodically built up and relieved in a teat cup gap at a predetermined rate, the negative pressure is retained over a predetermined suction phase (b) and remains relieved over a predetermined rest phase (d), wherein the ratio between the suction phase (b) and the rest phase (d) changes at least once during the milking operation.
An apparatus for milking animals, comprising at least one teat cup which is placed on a teat of the animal to be milked, a pulsator which builds up a negative pressure in the teat cup gap in recurring phases, having a control device which controls the duration of the suction phase (b) during which the negative pressure remains built up and the duration of the rest phase (d) during which the negative pressure remains relieved, characterized in that the control device so controls the duration of the suction phase (b) and the duration of the rest phase (d) that the ratio between the two durations changes at least once during the milking operation.
