Abstract
An electronic controlling device and method is disclosed. One embodiment provides at least one module performing specific functions within one of a plurality of module modes on reception of a corresponding module mode request. A system control unit is provided to operate the at least module in one of a plurality of module modes by distributing a corresponding system mode request. The at least one module is adapted to translate the distributed system mode request to a module mode request which is configurable.
Claims24
An electronic controlling device comprising:
- at least one module performing specific functions within one of a plurality of module modes on reception of a corresponding module mode request;
- and
- a system control unit to operate the at least one module in one of a plurality of system modes by distributing a corresponding system mode request;
- wherein the at least one module translates the distributed system mode request to a module mode request which is configurable.
An electronic controlling device comprising:
- at least one module to perform at least one predetermined function on reception of at least one corresponding local mode request;
- and
- at least one global state controller (GSC) to distribute at least one global mode request (GMR) to at least one module;
- wherein, for at least one module, at least one distributed global mode request may be individually translated to a predetermined one of the at least one local mode request in a configurable way.
A method for electronical controlling comprising:
- distributing one of a plurality of system mode requests by a system control unit to at least one module;
- translating the distributed system mode request for the at least one module into a corresponding one of a plurality of individually configurable module mode requests;
- and
- performing specific functions by the at least one module depending on the respective module mode request for the respective module.
A method for operating an electronic controlling device comprising:
- clustering the electronic controlling device in a plurality of functional domains each comprising at least one module, for at least one of the functional domains distributing one of a plurality of global mode requests from a global state controller to the at least one module within the respective functional domain.
