## Abstract

The present invention relates to a vehicle mounted printer station made up of a printer secured to a support surface tray that includes an adaptor capable of attaching the tray and printer to the top of a vehicle seat. The support surface is preferably a rectangular shaped plate with front, back and side edges along with top and bottom surfaces. The bottom surface is attached to the adaptor, the adaptor includes at least one attachment rod for securing the support surface to the vehicle seat. The attachment rods are sized to be received into receptacles provided in the top a vehicle seat designed for the vehicle headrest.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for enabling printer functions within a motor vehicle, said method including:
mounting a printer station adaptor to a top of a passenger seat of the motor vehicle, the station adaptor having a pair of spaced-apart elongated mounting rods received within respective headrest mounting rod receptacles of the passenger seat;
locating a printer on the station adaptor such that the printer resides directly adjacent the top of the passenger seat, thereby minimizing obtrusiveness of the printer within an interior cabin space of the motor vehicle; and
operatively connecting the printer to at least one electrical cable routed adjacent the passenger seat.

### Claim 2

In combination with a passenger seat of a motor vehicle, the passenger seat defining a pair of spaced-apart headrest mounting rod receptacles, a printer station comprising:
a station adaptor having a pair of spaced-apart elongated mounting rods received within respective headrest mounting rod receptacles of said passenger seat;
at least one electrical cable routed adjacent said passenger seat, and having a terminal end extending from said passenger seat proximate said headrest mounting rod receptacles; and
a printer carried by said station adaptor and adapted for electrically connecting to said at least one electrical cable, and said printer residing directly adjacent a top of said passenger seat, thereby minimizing obtrusiveness of the printer station within an interior cabin space of the motor vehicle.
