Interactive multimedia apparatus

An interactive multimedia apparatus (1) usable in combination with a software suite of authoring programs (2) installed in a computing means of a mobile data processing apparatus (3) of the type having a display means (4) and one or more input means (5) characterised in that the apparatus (1) comprises user control means operable to allow a user to transmit one or more of an audio file (10) and a video file (10) and a still image file (10) and a text file (10), including a combination thereof, to a plurality of channels (11) on the mobile data processing apparatus (3), and then to activate a selection of the channels (11) to enable the files in the selected channels (11) to be combined in a mixing cycle to generate a multimedia composition (66) having one or more of audio content and video content and still image content and text content, and whereby the user control means is further operable to enable the user to set composition authoring parameters (14) assigned to each channel (11), the parameters (14) then being applied to the files in the channels (11) by the authoring programs (2) to generate the multimedia composition (66).
