Abstract
A reinforcing tape for imbedding in a joint compound, has reinforcing yarns defining openings for passage of the joint compound, wherein; the openings are bounded by the yarns; the yarns are provided with one or more coatings adding tensile strength and resistance to pull out of the yarns from the joint compound.
Claims11
A reinforcing tape for reinforcing joint compound, comprising:
- reinforcing yarns joined together to form an open fabric or scrim having openings for passage of the joint compound, wherein the openings are bounded by the yarns;
- one or more coatings adding tensile strength to the yarns and adding resistance to pull out of the yarns from the joint compound, wherein the one or more coatings on the yarns includes an adhesive re-wettable in water;
- and
- a further coating on said one or more coatings, the further coating on said one or more coatings comprising a pressure sensitive adhesive on at least a back side of the tape.
