Method for introducing a weft thread in a weaving machine that includes a device for introducing a weft thread comprising adjusting a control parameter as a function of a mean deviation of an insertion parameter and adapting the number of insertions for determining said mean deviation of said insertion parameter, said adapting being dependent on deviations of said insertion parameter.
