Abstract
Amorphous ibandronic acid is provided with methods for its preparation. The methods include dissolution of ibandronic acid in a solvent such as acetonitrile, DMSO, methanol, or water, and spray drying.

Amorphous ibandronic acid.
A method of making amorphous ibandronic acid comprising the steps of subjecting a solution of ibandronic acid in a solvent selected from the group consisting of:
- acetonitrile (ACN), dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), methanol, and water, to a solvent-removal step selected from vacuum evaporation, lyophilization, and spray drying.
A method of making amorphous ibandronic acid comprising the step of spray drying an aqueous solution of ibandronic acid.
