Abstract
Compounds, compositions and methods are provided for treatment of sickle cell disease or a complication associated therewith, or graft versus host disease, in an individual. More specifically, the use of particular glycomimetics for the treatment is described.

A method for the treatment of sickle cell disease or a complication associated therewith in an individual who is in need thereof, comprising administering to the individual a compound in an amount effective for treatment, the compound with the formula:

- L=linker group;
- and
- n=0-1.
A method for the treatment of graft versus host disease in an individual who is in need thereof, comprising administering to the individual a compound in an amount effective for treatment, the compound with the formula:
- wherein
- L=linker group;
- and
- n=0-1.
