Abstract
A method and apparatus for providing a phonebook using an image in a portable terminal are provided. The method includes recording contact information in metadata of an image, and performing a linkage function using the image having the contact information recorded therein.
Claims41
A method for providing a phonebook using an image in a portable terminal, the method comprising:
- recording contact information in metadata of an image;
- and
- performing a linkage function using the image having the contact information recorded therein.
A method for providing security using an image in a portable terminal, the method comprising:
- upon attempting to execute a function requiring security, driving a camera;
- recognizing a face region in an image input through the camera and acquiring video information;
- determining whether the acquired video information corresponds with a previously stored video information;
- and
- if the acquired video information corresponds with the previously stored video information, performing the selected function.
A method for utilizing video information using an image in a portable terminal, the method comprising:
- recognizing a face region in an image;
- analyzing video information corresponding to the recognized face region and determining whether there is previously stored video information corresponds with the analyzed video information;
- if there is previously stored video information corresponding with the analyzed video information, determining whether there is contact information mapped to the stored video information;
- and
- if there is the linked contact information, displaying the face region and the contact information together with the image.
An apparatus for providing a phonebook using an image in a portable terminal, the apparatus comprises:
- a contact image manager for recording contact information in metadata of an image;
- and
- a controller for controlling a performance of a linkage function using the image having the contact information recorded therein.
