Abstract
In one form, a vent system is provided that can be mounted to a structure to provide for air flow either into or out of the structure. The vent system comprising one or more covers and at least one bottom flange in which the bottom flange defines a hole or opening. The cover is positioned over the opening and further defines the space between the cover and the flange to provide for air to travel either into or out of the opening. One or more inserts may be positioned within the opening or within other spaces defined by the cover and bottom flange to assist in minimizing the amount of moisture, snow or other foreign objects from entering the vent system.
Claims19
A vent system that can be mounted to a structure and provide for air flow either into or out of the structure comprising:
- at least one cover;
- at least one bottom flange, wherein the bottom flange defines a hole;
- a ring attached to the bottom flange and encircling the hole, and whereby the cover is positioned over the hole and defines a space between the cover and the flange to provide for air to travel either into or out of the hole;
- and
- one or more inserts positioned within the hole.
A method for minimizing the amount of moisture, snow or objects that can enter into an air-intake vent defining an opening that allows air to pass into and out of the structure comprising:
- positioning an insert in the vent opening whereby the insert fits snuggly within the opening;
- and
- attaching the vent system to the building structure.
A vent system that can be mounted to a structure and provide for air flow either into or out of the structure comprising:
- at least one cover;
- at least one bottom flange, wherein the bottom flange defines a hole;
- a ring attached to the bottom flange and encircling the hole, and whereby the cover is positioned over the hole and defines a space between the cover and the flange to provide for air to travel either into or out of the hole;
- the cover having side walls extending downward toward the flange and whereby the side walls form one or more spaces between the side walls and the ring;
- and
- one or more inserts positioned within the space formed between the side walls and the ring.
A vent system that can be mounted to a structure and provide for air flow either into or out of the structure comprising:
- at least one cover;
- at least one bottom flange, wherein the bottom flange defines a recess and hole within the recess;
- the cover is positioned over the hole and defines a space between the cover and the flange to provide for air to travel either into or out of the hole;
- and
- one or more inserts positioned within the cover and whereby the inserts are positioned over the hole.
