Abstract
An ejection tray includes a container that contains a recording sheet printed by a printing unit of an image forming apparatus, and a cover mounted on the container. The cover has a display for displaying information, and the display displays an information screen corresponding to information that can be printed on the recording sheet.
Claims33
A printing unit for printing information comprising:
- a housing including a container that contains a recording sheet,;
- a cover mounted over the container, the cover extending entirely over the container and a printed sheet holding tray, with a printing unit located adjacent a hinged connection between the cover and the housing;
- and
- an interface unit for interfacing with, and acquiring image information from, a separate external information acquisition device;
- wherein the cover has a display for displaying image information which may be printed on the recording sheet, and further wherein the display has a viewable surface area covering at least fifty percent or more of the housing surface area defined by its length and width dimensions and the viewable surface area of the display being greater than fifty percent of the recording sheet surface area.

A printing device for printing information received from a separate external information acquisition device comprising:
- an interface unit for interfacing with a separate external information acquisition device;
- an information acquisition unit for obtaining image information from said separate external information acquisition device via said interface unit;
- a housing including a supply tray for supplying at least one recording sheet to an image forming unit and an ejection tray
- for receiving the recording sheet
- after passing through the image forming unit and having an image formed thereon;
- a cover that covers the supply tray and the ejection tray;
- wherein the cover has a display that displays at least a portion of said information received from said separate external information acquisition device and which may be printed on the recording sheet;
- and
- further wherein the display has a viewable surface area covering at least fifty percent or more of the housing surface area defined by its length and width dimensions.

An information display device for displaying information received from a separate external information acquisition device
- a housing having a printing unit, a supply tray for supplying at least one recording sheet, an interface unit for interfacing with the separate external information acquisition device, and an information acquisition unit for obtaining image information from said separate external information acquisition device via said interface unit;
- a display secured over the supply tray that displays at least a portion of said image information received from said separate external information acquisition device, the display having a viewable surface area covering at least fifty percent of the recording sheet surface area.
