Abstract
An optical information medium includes a substrate and a recording layer formed on the substrate. The recording layer includes a first recording film formed of a first material that has Si as a main constituent and a second recording film that is formed of a second material that has Cu as a main constituent and to which Sn is added, the second recording film being formed in a periphery of the first recording film. Data is recorded onto and reproduced from the recording layer by irradiation of the recording layer with a laser beam.

An optical information medium comprising:
- a substrate;
- and
- a recording layer formed on the substrate, the recording layer including a first recording film formed of a first material that has Si as a main constituent and a second recording film that is formed of a second material that has Cu as a main constituent and to which Sn is added, the second recording film being formed in a periphery of the first recording film,
- wherein data is recorded onto and reproduced from the recording layer by irradiation of the recording layer with a laser beam.
