A technique includes estimating propagation parameters that are associated with a towed seismic survey based at least in part on seismic signal measurements and noise measurements.

A method comprising:
- estimating propagation parameters associated with a seismic survey based at least in part on seismic signal measurements and noise measurements.
A system comprising:
- an interface to receive data indicative of seismic signal measurements and noise measurements associated with a towed seismic survey;
- and
- a processor to process the data to estimate propagation parameters associated with the survey based at least in part on the seismic signal measurements and the noise measurements.
An article comprising a computer accessible storage medium to store instructions that when executed cause a processor-based system to:
- estimate propagation parameters associated with a towed seismic survey based at least in part on seismic signal measurements and noise measurements.
