Abstract
A method generates (200) a radio signal to be used for ranging. For each of one of multiple frames (501,505) to be transmitted as a ranging symbol, a first time interval (560) and a second time interval (580) are allocated. The ranging symbol is then transmitted as a set of pulses in each of the frames ((501,505)) only during the first time interval (560), and the second time interval (580) has a length to reduces inter-frame interference.
Claims29
A method for generating a radio signal to be used for ranging, comprising:
- allocating, for each of a plurality of frames to be transmitted as a ranging symbol of a radio signal, a first time interval and a second time interval;
- and
- transmitting, through a channel, the ranging symbol as a set of pulses in each of the plurality of frames only during the first time interval of each of the plurality of frames, and the second time interval has a length to reduce inter-frame interference.
A transmitter for generating a radio signal to be used for ranging, comprising:
- means for allocating, for each of a plurality of frames to be transmitted as a ranging symbol of a radio signal, a first time interval and a second time interval;
- and
- means for transmitting, through a channel, the ranging symbol as a set of pulses in each of the plurality of frames only during the first time interval of each of the plurality of frames, and the second time interval has a length to reduces inter-frame interference.
