Emissive Movie Theater Display

A movie theater display comprising:

• a flexible substrate tile;
• a plurality of display elements coupled to the substrate tile and grouped to define at least two display subportions;
• and
• at least two subelectrodes, wherein a first subelectrode is adapted to provide a first voltage to a first display subportion, and a second subelectrode is adapted to provide a second voltage to a second display subportion.

A method for displaying a movie comprising:

• providing a cinema-sized display panel, wherein the cinema-sized display panel is flexible and voltage-partitioned to include at least two display subportions and at least two subelectrodes, wherein a first subelectrode is adapted to provide a first voltage to a first display subportion and a second subelectrode is adapted to provide a second voltage to a second display subportion;
• receiving a video input signal;
• generating a drive signal in response to the video input signal;
• and
• displaying one or more images on the cinema-sized display panel, wherein the one or more images are displayed based upon the drive signal.
