Abstract
Systems and methods for managing, displaying, and/or storing objects that include providing a carrier, using one or more tags to modulate the carrier to produce a modulated carrier, transmitting the modulated carrier to a reader through a conductor or Tirelessly. All tags are coupled to a first conductor.
Claims17
A system for displaying at least one provided object and for providing an information regarding each object, the system comprising:
- a frame having a first conductor;
- a support having a second conductor;
- a reader;
- and
- at least one tag, each tag having a respective first terminal, each tag mechanically coupled to a respective object of the at least one object, and each tag stores the information regarding the respective object to which the tag is coupled;
- wherein:
- the support removeably couples to the frame;
- the at least one object is removeably positioned on the support;
- the reader electrically couples to at least one of the first conductor and the second conductor;
- while the support is coupled to the frame, the second conductor electrically couples to the first conductor;
- while the at least one object is positioned on the support:
- the second conductor electrically couples to the first terminal of each tag;
- each tag modulates in accordance with its respective information a carrier provided to at least one of the first conductor and the second conductor thereby producing a modulated carrier;
- and
- the reader receives the modulated carrier thereby receiving the information from each tag respectively;
- and
- the reader does not send information to any tag.
A system for displaying at least one provided object and for providing an information regarding each object, the system comprising:
- a frame having a first conductor;
- a support having a second conductor;
- a reader;
- and
- at least one tag, each tag having a respective first terminal, each tag mechanically coupled to a respective object of the at least one object, and each tag stores the information regarding the respective object to which the tag is coupled;
- wherein:
- the frame comprises a plurality of discrete mounting locations;
- the support removeably couples to the frame at a discrete mounting location of the plurality of discrete mounting locations;
- the at least one object is removeably positioned on the support;
- the reader contacts and electrically couples to at least one of the first conductor and the second conductor;
- while the support is coupled to the frame, the second conductor contacts and electrically couples to the first conductor;
- while the at least one object is positioned on the support:
- the second conductor contacts and electrically couples to the first terminal of each tag;
- the reader bidirectionally communicates with each tag through at least one of the first conductor and the second conductor thereby receiving the information from each tag respectively.
A system for holding at least one provided object and for providing an information regarding each held object, the system comprising:
- a container that encloses the at least one object inside the container, the container having a first conductor;
- a reader;
- and
- at least one tag, each tag having a respective first terminal, each tag mechanically coupled to a respective object of the at least one object, and each tag stores the information regarding the respective object to which the tag is coupled;
- wherein:
- the reader electrically couples to a first portion of the first conductor;
- while the at least one object is enclosed inside the container:
- a second portion of the first conductor contacts and electrically couples to the first terminal of each tag respectively of each object;
- each tag modulates a carrier provided to the first conductor in accordance with its respective information thereby producing a modulated carrier;
- and
- the reader receives the modulated carrier thereby receiving the information from each tag respectively;
- and
- the reader does not send information to any tag.
