Abstract
The horizontal ore filter has a plurality of filter elements covering the circular filter surface thereof and a sub-frame supporting the filter surface. In one aspect, each filter element has a longitudinal concave curvature therein. In another aspect, each sector frame has side flanges thereon. The sub-frame has a plurality of T-bars extending radially along the circular filter surface and each one of these T-bars supports the side edges of two adjacent filter elements. Upon installation of the filter elements to the sub-frame, the sector frames are held tight against the T-bars to ensure a good seal between adjacent filter elements and between each filter element and the sub-frame of the machine.
Claims20
In combination, a filter element for mounting on a horizontal circular ore filter;
- said filter element comprising a sector frame having a sector-like shape, a perforated upper surface, and a concave curvature therein along a longitudinal axis thereof;
- a piece of filtering material enclosing said sector frame, and attachment means for removable attachment of said filter element in a flat mode to a sub-frame of said ore filter.
In combination, a filter element for mounting on a horizontal circular ore filter;
- said filter element comprising a sector frame having a sector-like shape, a perforated upper surface, a pair of end flanges extending along ends thereof, and a pair of side flanges extending along sides thereof, said end flanges and said side flanges jointly defining a perimeter around said perforated surface;
- a piece of filtering material covering said sector frame, and attachment means for removable sealed attachment of said filter element to a sub-frame of said ore filter.
A horizontal ore filter having a circular filter surface comprising a plurality of filter elements covering said circular filter surface, and a sub-frame supporting said filter surface;
- each of said filter elements having a longitudinal concave curvature therein;
- said sub-frame comprising a plurality of straight T-bars extending radially relative to said circular surface and each of said T-bar supporting side edges of two adjacent ones of said filter elements,
- said T-bar having a compressible pad thereon;
- each of said edges having compressible moulding thereon;
- and
- means for compressing said mouldings against said pad.
