## Abstract

The invention relates to the soybean variety designated D4361423. Provided by the invention are the seeds, plants and derivatives of the soybean variety D4361423. Also provided by the invention are tissue cultures of the soybean variety D4361423 and the plants regenerated therefrom. Still further provided by the invention are methods for producing soybean plants by crossing the soybean variety D4361423 with itself or another soybean variety and plants produced by such methods.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

A plant part of the plant of claim 2.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The plant part of claim 3, further defined as pollen, an ovule or a cell.

### Claim 5

A tissue culture of regenerable cells of soybean variety D4361423 (ATCC Accession No. ______).

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The tissue culture of claim 5, wherein the regenerable cells are from embryos, meristematic cells, pollen, leaves, roots, root tips, anther, pistil, flower, seed, boll or stem.

### Claim 7 (depends on 5)

A soybean plant regenerated from the tissue culture of claim 5, wherein the regenerated soybean plant expresses all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of the soybean variety D4361423 (ATCC Accession No. ______).

### Claim 8

A method of producing soybean seed, comprising crossing a plant of soybean variety D4361423 (ATCC Accession No. ______) with itself or a second soybean plant.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8, further defined as a method of preparing hybrid soybean seed, comprising crossing a plant of soybean variety D4361423 (ATCC Accession No. ______) a second, distinct soybean plant.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

An F1 hybrid seed produced by the method of claim 9.

### Claim 11

A method of producing a plant of soybean variety D4361423 (ATCC Accession No. ______) comprising an added desired trait, the method comprising introducing a transgene conferring the desired trait into a plant of soybean variety D4361423.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The method of claim 11, wherein the desired trait is selected from the group consisting of male sterility, herbicide tolerance, insect or pest resistance, disease resistance, modified fatty acid metabolism, modified carbohydrate metabolism and modified soybean fiber characteristics.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The method of claim 12, wherein the desired trait is herbicide tolerance and the tolerance is conferred to an herbicide selected from the group consisting of glyphosate, sulfonylurea, imidazalinone, dicamba, glufosinate, phenoxy proprionic acid, cycloshexone, triazine, benzonitrile and broxynil.

### Claim 14 (depends on 11)

The method of claim 11, wherein the desired trait is insect resistance and the transgene encodes a Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) endotoxin.

### Claim 15 (depends on 11)

A plant produced by the method of claim 11.

### Claim 16

A method of introducing a single locus conversion into soybean variety D4361423 comprising:
(a) crossing a plant of variety D4361423 (ATCC Accession No. ______) with a second plant comprising a desired single locus to produce F1 progeny plants;
(b) selecting F1 progeny plants that have the single locus to produce selected F1 progeny plants;
(c) crossing the selected progeny plants with at least a first plant of variety D4361423 to produce backcross progeny plants;
(d) selecting backcross progeny plants that have the single locus and physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety D4361423 to produce selected backcross progeny plants; and
(e) repeating steps (c) and (d) one or more times in succession to produce selected second or higher backcross progeny plants that comprise the single locus and the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean variety D4361423 when grown in the same environmental conditions.

### Claim 17 (depends on 16)

The method of claim 16, wherein the single locus confers a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility; herbicide tolerance; insect or pest resistance; disease resistance; modified fatty acid metabolism; modified carbohydrate metabolism; and modified soybean fiber characteristics.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, wherein the trait is tolerance to an herbicide selected from the group consisting of glyphosate, sulfonylurea, imidazalinone, dicamba, glufosinate, phenoxy proprionic acid, cycloshexone, triazine, benzonitrile and broxynil.

### Claim 19 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, wherein the trait is insect resistance and the insect resistance is conferred by a transgene encoding a Bacillus thuringiensis endotoxin.

### Claim 20

A plant of soybean variety D4361423 (ATCC Accession No. ______), further defined as comprising a single locus conversion.

### Claim 21

A method of producing an inbred soybean plant derived from the soybean variety D4361423, the method comprising the steps of:
(a) preparing a progeny plant derived from soybean variety D4361423 (ATCC Accession No. ______) by crossing a plant of the soybean variety D4361423 with a soybean plant of a second variety;
