Abstract
Methods of dynamically identifying a server provided media asset on a client device are provided herein.
Claims20
A computer implemented method of dynamically identifying a server provided media asset retrievable to a client device, the method comprising:
- obtaining a web page having a representation of a link to a media asset;
- observing traffic with the server for media-indicative traffic;
- if media-indicative traffic is observed, determining a page element of said web page associated with said media asset indicated by said media-indicative traffic;
- and
- rendering said web page on said client device, such that said media asset is identifiable from said page element.

A rendering device-implemented method of electronically tagging online-retrievable media data, the method comprising:
- obtaining hypertext data including renderable data capable of identifying a link to the online-retrievable media data;
- analyzing the rendering of said renderable data to locate possible links to the online-retrievable media data;
- identifying a link to the online-retrievable media data from said possible links;
- determining a portion of said renderable data that is helpful in locating the media data;
- and
- electronically tagging said portion with a tag associated with the online-retrievable media data.
