Abstract
A mold coding device and method for providing identifying information on a molded part. The surface of the molded part having at least one multiple identifying information element formed in the molded part and a pointing means on the molded part for selecting the identifying information elements.

A date code marking system, comprising:
- at least one multiple identifying information element formed in a molded part;
- and
- pointing means on the molded part for selecting one of the at least one multiple identifying information elements on the first surface.
The date code marking system of claim 1, wherein the at least one multiple identifying information element is formed on a first surface of the molded part.
The date code marking system of claim 1, wherein there are two multiple identifying information elements on the molded part and the pointing means selects a single the two multiple identifying information elements.
The date code marking system claim 1, wherein there are three multiple identifying information elements on the molded part and the pointing means selects a single identifying information element on each of the three multiple identifying information elements.
The date code marking system claim 1 wherein the multiple identifying information element provide date information.
The date code marking system of claim 1, further comprising a fixed information element.
The date code marking system of claim 11, further including an additional information element on the pointing means.
