Abstract
A segmental retaining wall system utilizing extruded strips for soil reinforcement. The retaining wall is composed of a plurality of wall blocks that are stacked securely using interlocking pins and an extruded strip. The wall can be built such that it has vertical or battered angle dependant on the orientation of the interlocking pins.
Claims7
A concrete block for use in a segmental retaining wall utilizing the extruded strip, said concrete block 10 comprising:
- the front opening 12 and the rear opening 14;
- the pinholes 20 that are formed vertically downwards to some depth from the top surface of the concrete block 10, adjacent to the backside of the front opening 12;
- the strip accommodating channel 30 extending from the backside of the pinhole to the direction to the tail of the concrete block 10, wherein this strip accommodating channel 30 is narrower than the width of the pinhole;
- the bar-shaped interlocking pin 40 having a vertically elongated opening 42 in the middle of front portion, wherein it is inserted into the above mentioned pinhole 20 of the concrete block 10;
- the extruded strip 50 that is inserted through the elongated opening 42 of the interlocking pin 40 and then folded around the interlocking pin 40, wherein the strips 50 are met at the backside of the interlocking pin 40 and directed along the strip accommodating channel 30 and extending rearwards.
