Abstract
An adjustment assembly for adjustably coupling a first structural member to a second structural member is provided. The adjustment assembly includes a clamping member adapted to engage a portion of the first structural member and at least one fastener adapted to pass through the clamping member and the first and second structural members. The fastener is moved into a first position to fixedly couple the first structural member to the second structural member, and the fastener is moved into a second position to adjustably couple the first structural member to the second structural member.
Claims20
An adjustment assembly for adjustably coupling a first structural member to a second structural member, the adjustment assembly comprising:
- (a) a clamping member adapted to engage a portion of the first structural member;
- and
- (b) at least one fastener adapted to pass through the clamping member and the first and second structural members, wherein the fastener is moved into a first position to fixedly couple the first structural member to the second structural member, and wherein the fastener is moved into a second position to adjustably couple the first structural member to the second structural member.
A hood adjustment assembly for adjustably coupling a hood to a vehicle chassis, the hood adjustment assembly comprising:
- (a) a clamping member having an outward retainer portion and an inward retainer portion, wherein a hood portion is slidably receivable within the clamping member between the outward and inward retainer portions;
- and
- (b) at least one fastener adapted to pass through the outward and inward retainer portions of the clamping member, the hood portion, and a chassis portion, wherein the fastener is moved into a first position to apply a force to the outward retainer portion to fixedly secure the hood portion within the clamping member, and wherein the fastener is moved into a second position to reduce the force and allow the hood portion to be moved within the clamping member.
A method of securing a hood to a vehicle chassis, the method comprising:
- (a) disposing a portion of the hood within a clamping member;
- (b) passing a bolt through the portion of the hood, the clamping member, and a portion of the chassis;
- (d) threading a nut onto the bolt;
- (e) adjusting the position of the hood relative to the clamping member and the chassis;
- and
- (f) tightening the nut on the bolt such that the clamping member applies a clamping force on the portion of the hood to secure the portion of the hood within the clamping member.
