Bluetooth and Wireless Network Coexistence

A Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) 802.11x and Bluetooth® coexistence method, comprising:

• enabling a power management bit to a position indicating a power savings mode;
• and
• transmitting a communication including the power management bit enabled to the position indicating the power savings mode before commencing a Bluetooth® session.

An apparatus having at least wireless capabilities, comprising:

• at least one module to enable data transmissions using first and second wireless standard techniques;
• and
• a processor associated with the at least one module, the processor to prepare a first instruction indicating an apparatus is in a power savings mode, the processor to issue the first instruction using a carrier signal based on the first wireless standard, the processor to issue the first instruction before the processor issues a second instruction to commence communications using the second wireless standard.
