Bicycle handlebar grip having enhanced combination strength and a method for making the grip

A method for making a bicycle handlebar grip, comprising:

• a) preparing a fiber layer which has an inner surface and an outer surface and includes a plurality of fibers interweaving with each other and a plurality of weaving gaps located between the fibers;
• b) placing the fiber layer into a die and closing the die;
• c) filling a melted plastic material into the die to encompass the outer surface of the fiber layer and to penetrate through the weaving gaps of the fiber layer;
• d) cooling and solidifying the plastic material to form a plastic layer which includes a holding portion coated on the outer surface of the fiber layer and an engaging portion penetrating through the weaving gaps of the fiber layer;
• e) opening the die to remove a product which comprises the fiber layer and the plastic layer enclosed around the outer surface of the fiber layer and combined with the fiber layer integrally.

A method for making a bicycle handlebar grip, comprising:

• a) preparing a plastic inner shell;
• b) preparing a fiber layer which has an inner surface and an outer surface and includes a plurality of fibers interweaving with each other and a plurality of weaving gaps located between the fibers;
• c) mounting the inner surface of the fiber layer onto an outer surface of the plastic inner shell;
• d) placing the fiber layer and the plastic inner shell into a die and closing the die;
• e) filling a melted plastic material into the die to encompass the outer surface of the fiber layer and to penetrate through the weaving gaps of the fiber layer;
• f) cooling and solidifying the plastic material to form a plastic layer which includes a holding portion coated on the outer surface of the fiber layer and an engaging portion penetrating through the weaving gaps of the fiber layer;
• g) opening the die to remove a product which comprises the plastic inner shell, the fiber layer mounted on the plastic inner shell and the plastic layer enclosed around the outer surface of the fiber layer.
