Abstract
A glove made from narrow strap material. Glove advantages when used with a striking tool: improved control, improved striking force, improved tool head acceleration, improved energy transfer, reduced hand fatigue, improved grip, and reduced vibration shock. It can be configured for 1, 2, 3 or 4 fingers plus the thumb. The glove forms a web between the thumb and fingers. The width of the web and the tightness of fit on the thumb and fingers is controlled by a single pull-tab type of adjustment. The adjustment is secured by a contact friction loop which increases in friction during impact force use. The glove can be worn on a bare hand or over the top of a more conventional type of glove while still providing the same advantages.
Claims10
A type of glove comprising:
- (a) a narrow strap of material,
- (b) an adjustment means,
- (c) an adjustment retaining means,
- (d) and a glove strap web between the thumb and fingers,
- (e) where the narrow strap material encircles the thumb and at least one finger,
- (f) the adjustment means controls the spacing of the glove strap web and the size of the thumb and finger holes,
- (g) and the adjustment retaining means holds the spacing of the glove strap web and is sufficiently strong to hold adjustment in place under high impact force loading conditions such as those experienced during use of hand held striking tools,
- (h) where a torque leverage advantage is gained by contact between the handle of a tool and the glove strap web.
A type of glove comprising:
- (a) a narrow strap of material,
- (b) an adjustment means,
- (c) an adjustment retaining means,
- (d) and a glove strap web between the thumb and fingers,
- (e) where the narrow strap material encircles the thumb and 1, 2, 3, or 4 fingers,
- (f) the adjustment means is an extension of the narrow strap material and controls the length of the glove strap web, and the size of the thumb and finger holes,
- (g) and the adjustment retaining means is attached to the narrow strap material and holds the length of the glove strap web and is sufficiently strong to hold adjustment in place under high impact force loading conditions such as those experienced during use of hand held striking tools,
- (h) where the glove strap web created by the glove between the thumb and fingers is sufficiently strong as to provide a torque leverage advantage on the handle of a held tool.
A type of glove that increases control and striking force of a handled tool comprising:
- (a) a narrow strap of material,
- (b) and a contact friction retaining loop,
- (c) with said narrow strap material folded onto itself and attached permanently such that an inner loop is formed with a length of said narrow strap material extending beyond inner loop,
- (d) with said inner loop folded back onto itself such that both end pieces of said narrow strap material are exposed to the outside of the folds,
- (e) with said contact friction retaining loop slipped over the folded strap such that said extended strap material and folded inner loop are held together by said contact friction retaining loop,
- (f) whereby three distinct loops are then formed,
- (g) and pulling on said extended strap material functions both to alter the size of the formed loops and the distance between them, creating a form of pull-tab adjustment for finger and thumb sizes as well as the gap between them.
