Abstract
Embodiments including detection of color content in an image are disclosed.
Claims20
A method of image processing, comprising:
- receiving image data from a source, wherein the image data includes a color content;
- detecting and quantifying the color content of the image data;
- and
- assigning the image data to at least one category based upon the quantification of the color content, wherein the at least one category is selected from a group of categories including a monochrome category, a full color category, and a number of categories between the monochrome category and the full color category.
1 more element
A computer-usable medium having computer-readable instructions stored thereon for executing a method comprising:
- using color content detection logic to determine a color content level in image data for a number of pages of a print request;
- assigning each page of the print request to one of at least three categories, wherein the categories correspond to different color content levels determined by the color content detection logic;
- and
- assigning a different cost for each category based upon the different color content levels.
1 more element
An imaging apparatus, comprising:
- a processor;
- a memory coupled to the processor;
- and
- instructions storable in the memory and executable by the processor to:
- receive image data from a number of sources;
- use color content detection logic to determine a color content level for a number of pages of the image data, wherein the color content detection logic differs depending upon the source of the image data;
- and
- assign each page of the image data to one of at least three categories, wherein the categories correspond to different color content levels determined by the color content detection logic.
