Abstract
An apparatus for controlling power flow in a high voltage network. A phase shifting transformer includes a tap changer.
Claims19
An apparatus for controlling power flow in a high voltage network, the apparatus comprising:
- a phase shifting transformer having tap changing means,
- a static series compensator comprising a voltage source converter, and
- control means for controlling the phase shifting transformer and the static series compensator in coordination.
A method for controlling power flow in a high voltage network comprising a control apparatus including a phase shifting transformer, the method comprising:
- adjusting in a first period of time a voltage of the control apparatus with a controllable static series compensator, and
- adjusting in a second period of time a voltage of the phase shifting transformer and the voltage of the control apparatus to achieve a favorable working balance between the phase shifting transformer and the static series compensator.
A computer program product, comprising:
- a computer readable medium;
- and
- computer program instructions recorded on the computer readable medium and executable by a processor to carry out a method for controlling power flow in a high voltage network comprising a control apparatus including a phase shifting transformer, the method comprising adjusting in a first period of time a voltage of the control apparatus with a controllable static series compensator, and adjusting in a second period of time a voltage of the phase shifting transformer and the voltage of the control apparatus to achieve a favorable working balance between the phase shifting transformer and the static series compensator.
