Abstract
In a magnetic recording device, a semiconductor laser (LD) is disposed at a position with a predetermined distance from a swing arm having a slider. The laser beam output from the LD is irradiated, via a beam converter and a mirror, to a spherical aberration lens that generates spherical aberration. The laser beam transmitted through the spherical aberration lens is directed to a light incident opening of the slider at a constant angle (perpendicularly), and then to a position of a recording medium at which information is recorded, thereby performing thermal assist at the magnetic recording time.
Claims22
An information recording device that records information on a recording medium, by positioning a rotatable arm having a head mounted thereon for recording the information on the recording medium, the information recording device comprising:
- a light input unit, disposed at a stationary position other than a position of the rotatable arm, inputting light to the head;
- and
- an irradiating unit irradiating a position of the recording medium at which information is recorded with the light incident to the head from the light input unit.
A head for recording information on a recording medium, comprising:
- a reflection surface member that reflects incident light;
- and
- a light transmitting unit that brings the light reflected by the reflection surface member, to a position of the recording medium at which information is recorded.
