Abstract
A control apparatus comprises a priority determination unit for determining the priority of each of a plurality of applications that use data in different logical volumes constituting a volume group, and a restoration instruction unit for issuing a restoration instruction to a storage system to execute restoration on the plurality of logical volumes constituting the volume group in sequence from a logical volume used by an application having a high priority.
Claims20
A control apparatus for controlling the recovery of data stored in a plurality of logical volumes constituting a volume group within a storage system having said plurality of logical volumes, comprising:
- a priority determination unit for determining a priority of each of a plurality of applications that use said data in different logical volumes constituting said volume group;
- and
- a restoration instruction unit for issuing a restoration instruction to said storage system to execute restoration on said plurality of logical volumes constituting said volume group in sequence from a logical volume used by an application having a high priority.
A computer system comprising a storage system and a computer for controlling data recovery,
- wherein said computer comprises:
- a priority determination unit for determining a priority of each of a plurality of applications that use data in different logical volumes constituting a volume group;
- and
- a restoration instruction unit for issuing a restoration instruction to said storage system to execute restoration on said plurality of logical volumes constituting said volume group in sequence from a logical volume used by an application having a high priority,
- said logical volume being a logical volume storing said data used by said applications, and
- said storage system comprises:
- said plurality of logical volumes constituting said volume group;
- and
- a restoration execution unit for executing restoration on said data recorded in said volume group,
- said restoration execution unit restoring said data to said logical volumes of said volume group in response to said restoration instruction from said restoration instruction unit.
A recovery control method comprising the steps of:
- determining a priority of each of a plurality of applications that use data in different logical volumes constituting a volume group;
- issuing a restoration instruction to a storage system to execute restoration on said plurality of logical volumes constituting said volume group in sequence from a logical volume used by an application having a high priority;
- and
- restoring said data to said logical volumes of said volume group in response to said restoration instruction.
