Apparatus, system, and method for profiling and reusing software development assets

A computer program product comprising a computer useable medium including a computer readable program, wherein the computer readable program when executed on a computer causes the computer to:

• interpret at least one functional requirement for a target application, and at least one service quality element corresponding to each functional requirement;
• perform a function comparison to compare the at least one functional requirement, and each service quality element corresponding to each functional requirement, to a plurality of assets stored in an asset repository, to a functional description corresponding to each of the plurality of assets stored in the asset repository, and to a performance description corresponding to each of the plurality of assets stored in the asset repository;
• and
• generate a solution plan based on the function comparison.

A system to profile and reuse functional software assets, the system comprising:

• an asset consumer interface that receives at least one functional requirement for an internet-based application, and at least one service quality element corresponding to each functional requirement, from an asset consumer;
• an asset deployment tool comprising:
• an asset repository configured to store a plurality of assets, a functional description corresponding to each of the plurality of assets, and a performance description corresponding to each of the plurality of assets;
• a service planning module configured to interpret the at least one functional requirement for the internet-based application, and the at least one service quality element corresponding to each functional requirement;
• and
• a deployment module configured to generate a solution plan based on a comparison of:
• the at least one functional requirement for the internet-based application and each service quality element corresponding to each functional requirement;
• with
• the plurality of assets, the functional description corresponding to each of the plurality of assets, and the performance description corresponding to each of the plurality of assets.
