Abstract
The description relates to the field of automatically predicting the performance characteristics of a service-oriented architecture (SOA). The prediction is made by setting up a model of the service-oriented architecture, generating a queue of services to be executed, simulating execution of the services by utilizing the model while processing the queue, and determining the performance characteristics from data obtained from the simulation.
Claims30
A method for automatically predicting the performance characteristics of a service-oriented architecture, comprising:
- setting up a model of the service-oriented architecture;
- generating a queue of services to be executed;
- simulating execution of the services by utilizing the model while processing the queue;
- and
- determining the performance characteristics from data obtained from the simulation.
A system for automatically predicting the performance characteristics of a service-oriented architecture, comprising:
- a database operable to store at least one of
- a plurality of model elements for modelling a service-oriented architecture,
- a plurality of models of services,
- a plurality of models of service-oriented architectures, and
- any combination of the preceding;
- and
- a computer system coupled to the database and operable to:
- set up a model of the service-oriented architecture;
- generate a queue of services to be executed;
- simulate execution of the services by utilizing the model while processing the queue;
- and
- determine the performance characteristics from data obtained from the simulation.
Computer program product for automatically predicting the performance characteristics of a service-oriented architecture, the computer program product embodied in a computer-readable medium and when executed by a computer operable to:
- set up a model of the service-oriented architecture;
- generate a queue of services to be executed;
- simulate execution of the services by utilizing the model while processing the queue;
- and
- determine the performance characteristics from data obtained from the simulation.
