Modified Green Tea Polyphenol Formulations

A composition comprising:

• (a) an amount of a compound according to Formula II effective to reduce skin inflammation or dandruff:
• wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R7, R8, R9, and R10 are each independently H, OH,
• R11 is a linear, branched, or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C30 group, wherein if R11 is cyclic, R11 is a C3-C30 group;
• R5 and R6 are independently O, —NR12R13 or S, wherein R12 and R13 are independently hydrogen, or a linear, branched, or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C30 group, wherein if R12 and/or R13 are cyclic, R12 and/or R13 are C3-C30 groups;
• and
• wherein at least one of R1, R2, R3, R4, R7, R8, R9, or R10 are independently
• or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or prodrug thereof;
• and
• (b) an excipient.

A composition comprising:

• (a) a compound according to Formula II:
• wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R7, R8, R9, and R10 are each independently H, OH,
• R11 is a linear, branched, or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C30 group, wherein if R11 is cyclic, R11 is a C3-C30 group;
• R5 and R6 are independently O, —NR12R13 or S, wherein R12 and R 13 are independently hydrogen, or a linear, branched, or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C30 group, wherein if R12 and/or R13 are cyclic, R12 and/or R13 are C3-C30 groups;
• wherein at least one of R1, R2, R3, R4, R7, R8, R9, or R10 are independently
• provided R4 is not
• when R1, R2, R3, R7, R8, R9, and R10 are OH;
• or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or prodrug thereof;
• and
• (b) an excipient.

A compound according to Formula I

• wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, are each independently H, OH,
• wherein R7 is a linear, branched or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C30 group, wherein if R7 is cyclic, R7 is a C3-C30 group;
• and
• R6 is O, —NR8R9, or S, wherein R8 and R9 are independently hydrogen, or a linear, branched, or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C30 group, wherein if R8 and/or R9 are cyclic, R8 and/or R9 are C3-C30 groups;
• wherein at least one of R1, R2, R3, R4, or R5 is
• or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or prodrug thereof.

A compound according to formula II:

• wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R7, R8, R9, and R10 are each independently H, OH,
• R11 is a linear, branched, or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C30 group, wherein if R11 is cyclic, R11 is a C3-C30 group;
• R5 and R6 are independently O, —NR12R13 or S, wherein R12 and R13 are independently hydrogen, or a linear, branched, or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted C1-C30 group, wherein if R12 and/or R13 are cyclic, R12 and/or R13 are C3-C30 groups;
• wherein at least one of R1, R2, R3, R4, R7, R8, R9, or R10 are independently
• provided R4 is not
• when R1, R2, R3, R7, R8, R9, and R11 are OH;
• or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or prodrug thereof.
