A method of ameliorating or treating a neurodegenerative disease in a mammalian subject in need thereof comprising administering the subject a pharmaceutical composition comprising an effective amount of isolated or synthesized N6-(4-hydroxybenzyl)adenosine (T1-11) or a pharmaceutical salt or solvate thereof as a pharmaceutical active agent.
A method of modulating inflammation in a mammalian subject in need thereof comprising administering the subject a pharmaceutical composition comprising an effective amount of isolated or synthesized N6-(4-hydroxybenzyl)adenosine (T1-11) or a pharmaceutical salt or solvate thereof as a pharmaceutical active agent.
A process of making N6-(4-hydroxybenzyl)adenosine
- comprising the steps of:
- a) condensing a compound of formula I
- and a 4-methoxybenzoyl compound as shown in formula II
- wherein R1 represents a leaving group, to prepare a compound of formula III
- b) reducing the compound of formula III to a compound of formula IV
- and
- c) deprotecting the compound of formula IV to prepare the N6-(4-hydroxybenzyl)adenosine.
A process of making N6-(4-hydroxybenzyl)adenosine
- comprising the step of condensing a compound of formula 7
- with a compound of formula 6
