A planar array for use in detecting the presence or absence of a plurality of target analytes, comprising:
- a CD substrate having a first side and a second side;
- at least a portion of the first side of the CD substrate comprising a reflecting surface and at least a portion of the reflecting surface being substantially adjacent to an immobilization layer of first analyzer molecules specific to a first target analyte, the first side further comprising a plurality of concentric tracks at least one of which is a control track, each concentric track other than the control track having a plurality of target regions and a plurality of reference blanks, and wherein for each track other than the control track the target regions are coated with a layer of analyzer molecules configured to bind a particular one of the target analytes and the reference blanks are not configured to bind the particular one of the target analytes.
A planar array for use in a detection system for detecting the presence or absence of a plurality of target analytes, comprising:
- a bio-optical CD having a first side with a reflecting surface, at least a portion of the first side including a plurality of radial spoke regions, the radial spoke regions having a repeating pattern that includes first radial regions configured to bind a particular analyte adjacent second radial regions configured not to bind the particular analyte, the first radial regions being coated with a receptor layer specific to the particular analyte.
A bio-optical CD for use in a detection system for detecting the presence or absence of multiple analytes, comprising:
- a reflecting substrate having at least three sectors configured to bind at least three different analytes, a first sector configured to bind a first analyte, a second sector configured to bind a second analyte, a third sector configured to bind a third analyte, the first, second and third sectors each being coated with a receptor layer of recognition molecules specific to binding the respective analyte.
