Broadcast receiver and method for transmitting reception status of the broadcast receiver

A broadcast receiver comprising:

• a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) block for storing at least one digital content data;
• a control unit for collecting status information associated with a DVR function from the DVR block, and transforming the collected status information into a predetermined data format according to network management means;
• and
• a transmission unit for transmitting the transformed data.

A method for transmitting status information in a system, which includes a broadcast receiver having a storage unit connected to a broadcast transmission frontend over a network, the method comprising:

• requesting, by the broadcast transmission frontend, status information associated with a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) function of the storage unit to the broadcast receiver according to a network management protocol;
• collecting, by the broadcast receiver, the status information associated with a DVR function of the storage unit;
• and
• transmitting, by the broadcast receiver, the collected status information according to network management means.
